Location

The Allerton Conference Center has been the home of the national sessions of The LeaderShape Institute since 1986. For more information about the conference center, please visit their website: http://www.allerton.uiuc.edu/

The Allerton Conference Center was originally built in 1900 as a private home. It was developed into a conference center in 1946. During your time at the Allerton Conference Center you will be sharing a room with up to 5 other participants. Each room has single beds and private bathrooms. You will enjoy 3 full meals a day and plenty of snacks!

Packing List

We want you to be fully prepared for your week at The LeaderShape Institute. Print out these packing guidelines so you won't be the only one on Day 6 not dressed up or only have flip flops for the challenge course! You will note on the packing list that cell phone are not allowed. Please know that cell phones should only be used during free time (generally meals, early morning and late evening.) Most cell phones will have reception. Internet access is not available and participants should leave personal computers at home.

Schedule

You should be prepared to be engaged in learning during your entire week at The LeaderShape Institute. You can view a general schedule for the week below. You will be provided with a more detailed schedule once your session begins.

Travel

You need to arrive at the Allerton Conference Center no later than 3:00 p.m. on Sunday to register and check into your room. The session will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon. You should expect to leave no earlier than 12:00 p.m. on Friday. If you have to leave the session prior to 12:00 p.m., you will be responsible for your transportation expenses.

FLYING
You should schedule your flight into Willard Airport (airport code: CMI) in Champaign, IL. LeaderShape will provide a shuttle service from Willard Airport to the Allerton Conference Center. If you fly into another airport, you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the Allerton Conference Center.

It is occasionally difficult to meet the requested schedule when flying in to Champaign. Depending upon your location, you may need to arrive the night before. If you do come before the first day of the session, you will be responsible for your own lodging for that night. Here is a list of recommended hotels that will offer you a discounted rate if you tell them you are with LeaderShape. This list also contains shuttle and bus information from Chicago and Indianapolis.

DRIVING
Please use these detailed driving directions to the Allerton Conference Center. We have found that those participants who have used MapQuest or other on-line direction services are often misdirected. We will be collecting your car keys when you arrive. This ensures safe keeping and that all participants stay on the grounds throughout the week.
